Improvisation is his most important creative method. For Florian Christl, composing is a deeply personal, almost intimate process in which he remains alone with his music and his thoughts. The aim is to create a space that can be experienced individually; a place where, for a short time, it is all about "escaping reality in order to feel alive, lost in thought".

Florian Christl's debut album "Inspiration" reached the global classical music top lists and the top 20 of the German classical music charts straight away in 2018 and has been inspiring a wide audience on international tours ever since. The album "Donau", which will be released by Sony Classical on November 8, is a musical journey from the source to the mouth of the river, inspired by nature and the musical traditions of the cities and regions along the Danube, and comprises twelve new compositions. On his new album, the pianist and composer explores places such as Vienna, Budapest and the Danube Delta, each incorporating a local musical or sound-painting element into his compositions.
