In a list of names of Dutch women who have also become very well-known and popular in Germany, it doesn't take long to come across Ilse DeLange. At the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest, the singer came second in Copenhagen together with Dutch singer Waylon as The Common Linnets with their hit "Calm After The Storm", narrowly beating Conchita Wurst. The name Ilse DeLange has been on everyone's lips ever since this performance. With the exception of her second album "Livin' On Love" (number 5), her first seven albums all reached number 1 in the Dutch album charts. Eight Edison Awards as best Dutch singer since 1998, six number 1 albums in her home country, 1.8 million records sold and a total of 15 platinum awards are testimony to the enormous success of her career.
