Bridges - Musik verbindet gGmbH

In its new concert program Beyond time and space, the Bridges Chamber Orchestra - The composing orchestra once again transcends boundaries: the boundaries between continents, regions and nations, between classical and modern music and also the boundaries of the traditional composition process.The program includes classical works by great composers, such as Ludwig van Beethoven in a transcultural arrangement by Johanna-Leonore Dahlhoff (Artistic Director Bridges Chamber Orchestra), as well as compositions by orchestra members Gabriel Mientka, Walid Khatba, Peter Klohmann and Alireza Meghrazi. Other musical highlights include the music of violinist, rebab player and guest composer Ceren Türkmenoglu and the virtuoso playing of the famous tar player Sahib Pashazadeh.

The Bridges Chamber Orchestra will be playing for the first time under the direction of Zahia Ziouani, who has made a name for herself as the founder and conductor of the famous Divertimento Orchestra (Paris) and the Divertimento Academy and is an exemplary advocate of access to cultural offerings for all sections of the population. Zahia Ziouani creates shows that combine music, dance, theater and sports and opens up symphonic repertoire to diverse musical genres such as hip-hop, etc.The Bridges Chamber Orchestra brings together musicians with their instruments from different regions of the world. The orchestra members are experts in Arabic, Persian and European classical music, jazz, contemporary music, Eastern European folklore and various forms of Central Asian and Latin American music. Based on their diverse personalities, the musicians compose and arrange their pieces themselves. The result is transcultural music.
