Jacques is the owner of a small wine shop. However, he now has a closer relationship with his wines than with other people. This changes one day when the somewhat unworldly Hortense enters his store. Events come to a head when, shortly afterwards, the young petty criminal Steve storms into the store closely followed by the police.

Hortense asks Jacques to give the boy a chance and provide him with an internship. As Jacques feels he can't refuse this woman who has fallen out of time, he agrees. While Steve turns out to have a real talent for smell and taste, Jacques also jumps over his shadow. Gradually, with Steve's support, he begins to embrace life and love again.

Ivan Calbérac's warm-hearted comedy with witty dialog and precisely measured moments of suspense was awarded the Prix Molière in 2019.
