There are bands that you not only hear, but feel - one such band is The Mary Wallopers. With their untamed mix of Irish tradition and youthful anarchy, the three men from Dundalk, a small town in County Louth, have not only stirred up the music scene in their homeland, but have also conquered international stages. Their style? An explosive mixture of the Clancy Brothers and the Dead Kennedys, which thrives on incomparable energy and a twinkle in the eye. Like every good folk ballad, the band's story began on a journey. Brothers Charles and Andrew Hendy and their childhood friend Sean McKenna roamed Ireland, collecting old songs and giving them a new, rebellious twist. Their early performances were characterized by a raw, almost punkish energy that quickly achieved cult status.
