Doctor Faustus, who has pledged his soul to the devil for the price of knowledge, makes his way through the entire circle of the earth, from the deepest pit of hell up to the stars, through all the abysses of human passions, until he finally believes he has satisfied his longing in the child of the gods, Gretchen. But even out of his deepest love, only the evil demon Mephisto laughs at him, not forgetting to collect his price.

Part medieval, highly shocking mystery play about the poor sinner Doctor Fausten and part drama about the fate of modern man, who seeks his way to happiness between God and the devil.
