Helge Timmerberg: Bon Voyage - Reading at the Brotfabrik, Hausen - 2for1-Tickets
All the way to Morocco in his dad's Benz: Helge Timmerberg has been dreaming of a big trip overland ever since his father left him his car ten years ago, with the last words "Bon Voyage". After all, what could be more spontaneous and independent than having your own wheels? What could be more robust and stylish than an old Mercedes sedan? What is a more relaxed way to get to your destination? Helge Timmerberg sets off on a relaxed tour through Switzerland via Italy, France and Spain to North Africa. But on the very first stage, he breaks two of his rules: "Never drive for more than four hours a day!" and "Avoid the dark!". And so what was meant to be a pleasure trip turns into a road trip with obstacles, on which the author gets to know himself in a whole new way. He is thwarted and robbed, his old Benz becomes a retreat and the journey alone becomes solitary confinement on four wheels ...
Helge Timmerberg, born in 1952 in Dorfitter, Hesse, hitchhiked to India at the age of seventeen and decided to become a journalist. He is one of the most innovative journalists and travel writers in Germany. "Tigers don't eat yogis" was his first major success. Malik and Piper have published several bestsellers, most recently the travel books "Die Straßen der Lebenden", "Das Mantra gegen die Angst", the autobiography "Lecko mio" and "Joint Adventure".
