"A shining example"! This is how the Catholic dignitaries of a small German diocese see themselves. Clean, with few church resignations and absolutely scandal-free. In addition, the ambitious bishop presents himself as an energetic enlightener and clean man who resolutely combats all the dark shadows of the past. It is therefore no wonder that he is to be rewarded by the Vatican with the biggest event in the 700-year history of the diocese: At the end of his visit to Germany, the Pope will stop by the diocese, bless the diocese's most famous relic and spend a night in the episcopal palace. But during the preparations for the Holy Father's visit, a scandal brews beneath the seemingly perfect surface, threatening to sweep away not only the bishop but also the diocese like a tsunami. From now on, only one thing applies to the leading figures: the scandal must be prevented by all means and heaven and hell will be set in motion...

Leading British playwright Alistair Beaton (Feelgood, Fracking for Future) and German satirist Dietmar Jacobs (Extrawurst) have joined forces for this work commissioned by Theater Trier. The result is a satirical comedy about the Catholic Church. A play that not only entertains, but certainly also provokes - and not only makes the audience laugh according to all the rules of tabloid art, but also leaves the performance with plenty to talk about. Because:
Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor (8th commandment of the Catholic Church)
Thou shalt enjoy thyself (1st commandment comedy - and the seats are much more comfortable than any church pews)
