Volkaracho! - Scurrilities from the French Revolution, International Theater - 2for1 tickets
In two fast-paced hours, Robin Haug and Laszlo Quast retell the events of the French Revolution, shedding light on slavery in the Caribbean, the political intrigues in Versailles, the terrifying menu in the Bastille and much more. It is about the amazing adventures of Marie-Cessette Dumas and her son Alexandre, the hardships of the freedom fighters in Corsica and the legendary house parties of the nobility and clergy. Maximilien de Robespierre and Camille Desmoulins appear as hip-hop artists, Puss in Boots as a secret agent and Klaus Kinski as a young Napoleon Bonaparte.
In a special blend of quirky humor, dramatic acting and several musical numbers, the actors invite us to learn to appreciate the value of our democracy anew.
