Internationales Theater Frankfurt

Mimis Plessas (1924 - 2024) was born in Athens and died last year, a week before his 100th birthday. He dedicated 70 years of his creative life to music. Plessas created a musical oeuvre that spanned generations and has earned him worldwide recognition and admiration to this day. His career began at a young age as a piano soloist and developed into a highly respected composer and conductor. He composed music for cinema and theater, jazz, opera and also wrote classical music. He has worked with many renowned singers (Nana Mouskouri, Jenny Vanou, Yannis Poulopoulos, Stratos Dionysiou, Rena Koumioti, Tolis Voskopoulos and others). In his 70-year career, he has musically shaped the lives of three generations of Greeks.

The homage will be performed by the Frankfurt Greek Music Ensemble "PATHOS". The music group will take the audience on a magical journey through the musical world of Mimis Plessas. The Greek Music Ensemble "PATHOS" consists of: Jannis Vlachos (vocals), Thalia Karida (vocals), Charis Tsernos (bouzouki), Kostas Theopistos (guitar), Manolis Dramalis (piano), Jannis Papanestis (bass) and Christos Giannakopoulos (percussion).
